How to Use Valve Oil
As a trumpet player, it’s essential for you to know how to oil trumpet valves to enjoy a smooth performance.
To properly use trumpet oil, start by placing the valve into its correct position and sliding it down into the casing. Then, twist it clockwise until you hear a click. Unscrew the top of the valve slightly, then squirt in some valve oil and put it back. Next, release the valve and place several drops of oil around the top.
Valve oil helps to clean, lubricate and fill the air space inside your trumpet valves, so it’s important to apply two spots of oil before each use. Make sure to remove any traces of old oil for optimum performance!
How Often To Lubricate Trumpet Valves With Oil
