Pros of Pianote

If you’re looking for an online piano lesson platform, Pianote is definitely worth considering. Here are some of the pros of using Pianote:

Flexible Learning

Pianote offers a flexible learning experience, allowing you to learn at your own pace and on your own schedule. You can access the lessons from anywhere, as long as you have an internet connection.

Great for Beginners

Pianote is designed for beginners, with step-by-step lessons that cover everything from basic music theory to advanced techniques. The lessons are easy to follow, and the instructors are patient and encouraging.

Multiple Instructors

Pianote has multiple instructors, each with its own teaching style and area of expertise. This means you can find an instructor that resonates with you and your learning style.

Large Song Library

Pianote has a large song library with various genres and difficulty levels. This means you can learn new songs you enjoy playing and challenge yourself as you progress.

Affordable Pricing

Pianote offers affordable pricing, with options for monthly, yearly, or lifetime subscriptions. This makes it accessible to a wide range of budgets.

Cons of Pianote

While Pianote is a fantastic resource for learning piano, it has flaws. Here are a few cons to keep in mind:

Steep Pricing

Pianote’s pricing may be a bit steep for some. While the quality of the lessons is high, the monthly subscription fee of £29.99 may be too much for those on a tight budget. However, it’s worth noting that Pianote offers a 30-day free trial, which gives you plenty of time to decide if it’s worth the investment.

Steep Pricing

Course Structure

Another potential downside is that Pianote’s course structure may not be suitable for everyone. The ten lessons are designed to be taken in a specific order, which may not work for those who prefer a more flexible approach. Additionally, some users have reported that the lessons can be a bit repetitive, which may be frustrating for more advanced learners.

Instructors

Pianote’s instructors are knowledgeable and engaging, but only a handful exist. This means you may not find an instructor whose core skills or teaching style resonates with you, which can be a dealbreaker for some.

Pianote vs Other Apps

If you’re looking for a piano learning app, you may wonder how Pianote compares to other popular options. Here’s a brief comparison of Pianote to three other apps: Synthesia, Simply Piano, and Flowkey.

Pianote offers a unique combination of real teacher support and structured online lessons at a competitive price. With various courses and lessons available, students can progress at their own pace and build a strong foundation in piano playing. Pianote also offers a 7-day free trial, allowing users to try out several lessons on the platform before committing to a subscription.

Pianote VS Synthesia

Synthesia, on the other hand, offers a game-like interface that allows users to learn to play songs by following falling notes on the screen. While this can be a fun and engaging learning method, Synthesia does not offer structured lessons or real teacher support. The one-time purchase price of £59.95 may also be a barrier for some users.

Pianote VS Simply Piano

Simply Piano offers thousands of songs to learn and various courses but does not offer real teacher support. Instead, the app uses AI feedback to evaluate and guide students. The cost of Simply Piano ranges from £9.99/month to £89.99/year, with a free trial available, but the structured lessons may be limited compared to Pianote.

Pianote VS Flowkey

Flowkey offers a range of courses and lessons, but the real teacher support is limited to email support only. The cost of Flowkey ranges from £9.99/month to £19.99/month, with a free trial available. While Flowkey offers a variety of song tutorials and lessons, the lack of real teacher support may be a drawback for some users.

Do you know?

Playground Sessions , another alternative to Pianote, is an online piano learning platform created by Quincy Jones that uses a gamified approach to teaching piano. It offers interactive lessons, personalized support, and progress-tracking features for all skill levels.

5 Best Tips on Learning the Piano with an App

1. Start with the basics: As a beginner, it’s essential to start with the basics of piano playing, including proper hand placement, finger technique, and posture. Make sure to follow the structured lessons the app provides, and don’t rush through the material.

2. Practice regularly: Consistent practice is critical to improving your piano skills. Set aside a regular time each day to practice playing piano, and try to stick to it. Even 10-15 minutes of practice daily can help you progress.

3. Use a metronome: A metronome can help you develop a sense of rhythm and timing, which is crucial for playing the piano. Many piano learning apps, including Pianote, have built-in metronomes and rhythms that you can use during practice.

4. Listen to music: Listening to music can help you develop an ear for different styles and musical genres. Try listening to the songs you’re learning to play on the piano and pay attention to the melody, harmony, and rhythm of your favourite songs.

5. Stay motivated: Learning piano can sometimes be challenging, but staying motivated and focused on your goals and learning process is important. Set realistic goals for yourself and celebrate your progress along the way. Don’t be afraid to ask for help or guidance from the app’s teachers or community forums if you feel stuck or discouraged.

So, I’ve always wanted to learn piano but never knew where to start. Came across this review and I’m intrigued by Pianote’s Beginner Piano Bootcamp. Does anyone know if it’s really suitable for someone with literally no music background? Also, how do the instructors handle total beginners?

ok so i checked out the additional features part and while the community forums and supplementary materials sound cool, how do they actually stack up against other platforms? feels like every app has these now. not saying pianote isn’t good, but what makes their community and materials stand out?

I’ve had my eye on Pianote for a while, particularly keen on the Pop Piano Accompaniment course. The idea of a large song library and connecting with a community is really appealing to me. Also, shoutout to Robert Emery for the well-structured review. Makes diving in seem less daunting.

Finally got around to reading this and I’m seriously considering Pianote now. The range of courses, especially Jazz Piano Made Easy, sounds like exactly what I need to break out of my current plateau. Has anyone got experiences to share? Dying to know if it’s as good as it sounds!
