Arts Digital makes another Website acquisition
Ted’s List CEO, Robert Emery, is proud to announce that SoundsGreatMusic.com is now part of the Ted’s List family. Arts Digital Ltd, the parent company of Ted’s List, has acquired www.soundsgreatmusic.com in February 2024.
Sounds Great Music was originally established in November 1977 as a family run business. Very soon after they became renowned for their customer care and after sales service, this element helping them to thrive in the Greater Manchester suburbs amidst strong competition from large city centre stores. Initially the business was geared towards the education, brass and woodwind market, developing strong bonds with schools and education authorities within the Cheshire area.
The early to mid eighties saw them move heavily into the expanding hi-tech market and soon became Yamaha’s largest independent hi-tech account, resulting in a visit to Yamahas facilities in Japan. As the high-tech boom started to fade in the late eighties, they moved more into the guitar market and particularly the high value end. They were one of the first stores to stock PRS guitars in the UK and have a long standing friendship with Paul Smith himself after countless trips to the factory and many social meetings.
In the early to mid nineties they started to regularly attend the Namm show in Los Angeles where they started to acquire direct import lines, bringing exclusively into the UK unusual boutique guitars, amps, effects and accessories.
As they entered the new millennium they doubled their retail floor space and opened a dedicated piano showroom. With this increased space they also created on-site repair/workshop facilities for guitars, and brass and woodwind instruments.
Over the last 10 years, primarily due to trips to the namm show, they have imported and distributed to the trade a number of interesting brands. Examples of their distribution lines past and present are – Suhr Guitars, Krank and Soldano amplifiers, Voodoo lab , Xotic and wampler effects , Pedaltrain pedalboard cases , Ebow, Smokey amps, Jam Kat pick holders and many more.
In 2006 they were voted as having “Best customer service” by the music industries association (our trade governing body) and in 2004 were voted “Best Independent Retailer”. Within the last few years they have also received the Fender top dealer award.
The team at Arts Digital believe that the www.SoundsGreatMusic.com brand can be developed more, and combined with the team at Ted’s List, can make a fabulous partnership.
www.soundsgreatmusic.com specialised in providing valuable information and products in all the orchestral, keyboard, guitar and drums categories.
Robert Emery has said “I’m thrilled that SoundsGreatMusic.com is joining our family. The site had a great following and reputation, and we hope to do it justice by developing all the content onto Ted’s List”
