FOR YOU

Well hey there!

My name is Robert, and I developed Ted’s List while in the Covid lockdown of 2020. But I’m sure you’re wondering why I named the website Ted’s List then…

Going back to 2015, I evolved from being a fun-loving young musician, right into a ‘proper adult’! I had a newborn (well my wife did!) – and little Teddy entered the world. And like his father, since he could make music and songs; he has.

And since Ted went to school, I had his pals and also their parents constantly ask me for information on music and learning a musical instrument. So how could I assist them?

By making Ted’s List!

Are You Seeking To Improve Your Acoustic Guitar Playing?

Well lucky for you, we can help!

The Ted’s List writers are all fantastic, qualified musicians. Making use of their experience, no one can assist you to better; especially as there appears to be a huge amount of poor advice on other websites…

Are you aware that to teach music, absolutely no qualification is required? Nothing at all. It means you could be having advice about what you should buy, tips & techniques from a person who has never formally learnt their musical instrument.

You wouldn’t believe how many acoustic guitar teachers don’t know the difference between a Dreadnought and a Jumbo.

And that is why you’ll enjoy this content created by our outstanding writers. There is nothing better than getting the suggestions and tricks of the trade from a real expert. And above all, they really like producing acoustic guitar reviews; and they also love helping out budding acoustic guitarists.

Acoustic Guitar | Getting Started

Playing the Acoustic Guitar can be enormous fun, but starting to learn an instrument from the very beginning can be a very daunting process.  The two most essential elements of learning a musical instrument are Yin & Yan.

Firstly, you must do your research.  Read some Acoustic Guitar Reviews.  Find out what Guitar is going to be best for your situation, and get the very best instrument you can afford to buy.  Then do more research about methods of learning; two crucial areas to cover are:

  • Self-taught VS finding a teacher
  • What accessories will make your learning easier and more effective

A little knowledge goes a long way, and all of this research will give you the confidence to start as you mean to go on.

However, be careful.  It’s easy to fall into the trap of doing too much research.  Spending too long finding information is an excellent form of procrastination.  And if research is the Yin, then jumping into the deep end is the Yan.

With the research confidence behind you, using the famous Nike phrase of ‘JUST DO IT’ is the second essential element to learning the Acoustic Guitar.

Playing a musical instrument can be one of the most nerve-racking things you’ll ever do. It’ll also be one of the most complicated. Don’t despair.  Sometimes it’s better to ‘give it a go and see what happens’.

Here at Ted’s List, we have pulled together a group of the finest musicians to give you free tips, tricks and advice. Use it and abuse it! We can help you solve the ‘Yin research conundrum’.  We then trust you to do the Yan jumping all by yourself.
